Never say you don't care about student elections

You will invariably be overhead by a freshman PoliSci student, who first heard of ‘Thomas Paine’ or 'John Locke’ a week ago, telling you that voting in student elections is the 21st century equivalent of the Emancipation Proclamation. Or that you’re letting down the spirit of those who fought on the beaches of Normandy, when their total knowledge of the Second World War comes from 'Saving Private Ryan’.

Don’t repeat my mistake. If you don’t give two hoots about student elections, keep it to yourself.
